Week 20 St. Stephen’s Green By Jack

It was Tuesday of Easter Week. All was quiet around the GPO. Pádraig Pearse had read the proclamation yesterday and the British flag had been taken down and replaced by the Irish tricolour. I am stationed in Stephen’s Green and am safely tucked away in a cold, muddy trench. I must say it is better than being out of it.

“It’s nearly dusk, Conor,” my friend Sean was shouting to me.

“C’mon you lazy lumps, we’ve got work to do!”he said in a joking voice.

I got up out of the trench and just then I saw something sailing over our heads. As it flew towards us, I couldn’t see what it was but then I recognised it.

“GRENADE!” I shouted as I jumped back into the trenches and it exploded 10 feet away from me. Last thing I remember was the sound of gunfire, men shouting and the bitterly cold evening of Tuesday 25th of April.

Week 20, Being a Guard by Tim

Most people think being a guard is simple, just walking around making sure people don’t do anything bad or not get inside a certain building. But guarding AREA 51 ain’t simple. As you may know a lot of people are trying to get inside. It’s so annoying. Last week’s encounter was very weird. Jim and I were on our night shift when I heard a rustling noise coming from a bush. I ignored it and then WHOOSH! Something flew out of the bush. It made a loud annoying noise and as it flew closer to us. I couldn’t see it until I saw blinking lights beneath it. A drone. Jim shot it down and two teenage boys ran out of the bush. I was surprised because people never use drones trying to get inside the facility.

week 20 Worked Up by Oisín

Why must we build this wall? It’s the length of China and I still don’t know why. Then at that moment I saw something in the distance. As it flew towards us I couldn’t see what it was. At this point my heart was pounding. What if we were building a wall for a future war? What if that thing is a drone and when it was right over our heads I realized it was a bird. I was just about to run for my life, scream and hide behind a bush because of a bird! (I looked down at a bush and I think I could see eight or seven people hiding.)

Week 20 The Eagle by Mathew O’G

My friend and I were heading up a mountain when something came flying.    As it flew towards us I couldn’t see what it was.                                                            To my surprise it was an eagle.                                                                                               It  flew majestically towards us.                                                                                             It saw us as a threat and tried to strike us with its talons.                                         It let out an ear shattering shriek.                                                                                       Covering my ears, I lost my step and plunged down the mountain.                        I screamed with fear that I might die.                                                                                   To my surprise, the eagle swooped down and grabbed my t-shirt lifting me back to my climbing frame.

Week 20 The Catastrophic Crash by Szymon

It was a dull, boring day. I was getting ready to go to work. When I arrived, it was ominously quite. I went to my office to start working. When I was at lunch, my co-worker and I met in the lunchroom. We were talking and staring out the window. Suddenly something caught my eye. As it flew towards us I couldn’t see what it was. Then I heard a loud crash and suddenly everything turned black. When I snapped back I was in the back of an ambulance.
“What happened?” I questioned one of the paramedics.
“A plane crashed into your building,” he answered.

#Week 20,A Flying Nightmare by Abdul

Today I would venture into a haunted house. My friends and I arrived and the house didn’t really scare me as much as I hoped. As we scurried in,we heard banging,it didn’t stop! So we made our way to the top floor, nothing. We got on our bikes and headed home. The banging, it got louder. I started feeling like something was following us, the thing, as it flew towards us, I couldn’t see what it was, with a nail in its head and blood dripping from its eye. It was a child smiling at us. We cycled home as it annoyed us. I shouted for help.I  ended up fainting because of that Nightmare!!

Week 20 Unknown by Mikolaj

While I was in my tenement, I could hear a strange noise outside my defenceless window. I got up from my bed and walked really slowly towards the noise. It was like a mile up above my house. I tried to take my camera and zoom into it, but it was too high. I tried thinking of a plan but I couldn’t think of anything. I got my mate Josh but he didn’t have a clue what to do either. We heard the engine zoom, but as it flew towards us I couldn’t see what it was. At least I got the shot with my camera…

Week 20: Story by Naglis

“Truth or dare?” enquired my best friend Luke.

“Dare,” I answered shakily.

“I dare you to take something from the abandoned house across from us!”

“Fine,” I muttered.

We glanced left and right and skedaddled across the road swiftly.

“I’ll wait here,” murmured Luke nervously.

The door screeched hesitantly open . I could see and hear the damp, decaying, rotting floorboards creaking irritatingly. I spotted a wallet and snatched at it. I breathed a sigh of relief as I inhaled repeatedly. We sauntered back to the house.

“What’s that?” Luke asked.

As it flew towards us, I couldn’t see what it was…it was a car!…

Week 20: Should Have Listened By Marc

“Everybody run!” shouted a man in a black jacket. Nobody listened because there was nothing wrong going on. After that he shouted again, ” You will regret this!” Still nobody listened. There was a lot of Irish people because they want to join the British army. Suddenly there was something in the sky coming towards us. As it flew towards us I couldn’t see what it was. After a while I knew what it was. It was the Germans! We all started running to the country side. I was too late. We should have listened.
